ABSOLUTION

I wish I could strip my damp thoughts

right here in the middle of this road

letting 'em crash into

the mellow headlights in dark,

and walk my way back

naked into the woods.

And they'd find my memories,

mutilated, in mist

The dawn would wake up

to stinking mushy dreams

like broken rotten eggs,

the banes and curses

embracing them like

tufts of black moulds.

Would they weep, I don't know

my friends, or sigh

'she broke her chains!

A slave to overthinking,

a dreamer, of nightmares

a romantic, incurable!'

Tremors crawl up on me

like snails, like wet kisses

into my consciousness

screaming it's time, it's time!

Out from my old broken watch

seeped a drop of second

an escape of time

from its constraints, a sign!

And I wish this is it -

that moment, of absolution!
