THE PRESENCE
Shattered I stood by the window pane
Letting the gloom of my spirit rain..
Empty darkness, the promises vain
Went vanished to, leaving me lane
Ever did I feel this deep for nane
Never did I foresee, Oh, it was a lain!
Fixing broken pieces together again
I spent my life worth no gain
In sake of a love that you did feign
It was my soul that you had slain!
Broken yet certain, slashing my vein
Darkness crawled upon the life chain
People out yelled, Oh, she was insane!
But lost in your thoughts, death was never a pain
The blues of those old autumn nights did wane
Off did the memories with monsoon showers rain
Over time you found your new love life fain
Maybe you'll never complain or try explain
Yet none ever knew in the dark out the lane
When the winter nights fall behind that unseen bloodstain
That the cold of a frozen blotch of black does remain
As I still stand smiling by your window pane.
